EXPLORING ARAB STREET & HAJI LANE

I've been learning to shoot in manual mode these days, but sometimes it gets really frustrating 'cos I'd miss out on good shots due to wrong settings on my camera (so I end up going back to auto mode LOL). I am very particular with the quality/composition of my photos so I tend to rely heavily on auto mode so I can be sure that the photos are sort of clear. It doesn't work this way in low lighting however. I guess it's all about the trial and error! Nonetheless, I got to learn since I still love taking and editing photos (I find editing therapeutic :p ).

You're probably wondering why aren't there photos of Victoria Street since it's their EP launch - well, oopsie, I have to admit I'm struggling with my Canon 60D. Being fairly new to working with a DSLR (and manual mode), I usually have ZERO CLUE about what settings to use when I'm shooting in low light. 

All I know is this - a larger F-stop (smaller opening e.g. f/5.6 compared to f/2.8) requires slower shutter speed, because smaller opening means less light reaches the film, meaning it needs more time to capture the shot. A smaller F-stop requires a faster shutter speed, because it needs less time to capture the shot. But, what should I set first? ISO or Aperture or Shutter speed? 

Manual mode is tough. Why can't I point and shoot all day err day. Hehe okay. If you have any comments, do drop it down below at the comment section! Thanks for dropping by :)

JAPAN 2014

Day 1

We started our trip at Universal Studio Japan in Osaka! :)

 We then went up the Umeda Sky Building and then explored Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori where we tried gyoza and takoyaki balls.

Day 2

Travelled to Kyoto where we visited the Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kiyomizudera Temple and Gion. We bought a lot of Japanese snacks, and most of which were too nice to open to eat 'cos of the packaging :P After Kyoto, we headed to Nagoya and visited the Nagoya Castle (didn't really take photos there)

Day 3

Took the bullet train...and got off the next stop (just to experience the ride) We then drove along to foot of Mount Fuji and shopped at Gotemba Premium Outlet followed by going to Saiko Iyahshi No Sato Nenba where you can get to try the Mt Fuji water (but I didn't).

Day 4

Our last stop was Tokyo! We visited Shinjuku, Asakusa Temple, Nakamise Shopping Street and then saw the full size Gundam Statue at Divercity Tokyo Plaza. 

Day 5- 

Finally, Tokyo Disneyland! However, disneyland was rather disappointing as we went on a Sunday and it was super crowded. We didn't sit any of the rides 'cos the queuing time was 200mins for almost everything including restaurants. So we ended up leaving after walking the whole disneyland, and headed to Harajuku, Shibuya and then saw the Tokyo Tower!

I really hope to go back to Japan and experience more of their culture and see and touch SNOW. I think this trip would have been better if we hadn't gone in a tour group. But still, I'm grateful to have gone to Japan ^^
